Weekly Homework Guide:
Reading: Each night your child should be reading 20-25 minutes. This means reading to themselves, reading with someone, or being read to. Your child does not have to fill out their reading log unless they are using it specifically to track a goal.
Guided Reading: If your child had his/her guided reading group that day, reading for homework will be a reread or specified reading assignment of the teacher-selected text. Students may also have to work on questions that go along with the reading assignment. If so, specific instructions will be sent home.
Spelling: Once your child brings home his/her word study notebook, they have a new spelling list. They have been assigned games and practice activites on SpellingCity.com. Your child may work on these any night of the week but it is not mandatory.
Math: Monday-Thursday your child will have a double-sided math page to complete. If any problems arise with the work, please have your child stop and write a note to me on the top of the page so I can help them the next day! This homework is more of a check-in for me to make sure your child is understanding what has been taught. Thank you! =)
